To the Editor:
I am taking the unusual step of writing around a town political issue. I have lived here 40 years, and as a senior citizen, feel it is important that my age group be heard.

I watched Gordon Cliff on TV during the Candidates Night. He was clear, straight-forward, and articulated a vision for Wayland that I embraced when I moved here. He was able to articulate his differences from his opponent, without rancor or hostility. He answered each question asked in a forthright manner. As I've heard him explain: "I don't dislike Tony and the selectmen he has endorsed - Ed Collins and Doug Leard. I just don't agree with their positions." He demonstrated real leadership this town needs.
This year the selectman seat is the swing seat that can affect the outcome of many votes that will set the stage for the future of Wayland. His positions on key issues give me great confidence to state publicly he's got my vote. He should have yours, too.
