Dear editor:

I have had the pleasure of working with Jeanne Downs in various school-related capacities and I strongly support her candidacy for School Committee. Jeanne is a true advocate for our public schools and works tirelessly to turn good ideas into realities. As president of the PTO both at the middle school and currently at the high school, Jeanne is uniquely positioned to work with administrators, teachers, and parents, working to enhance the educational experiences of our children. She has a strong relationship with each of these factions.

Within the volunteer community, she has proven herself a successful leader: strong, energetic, diplomatic, and compassionate. She brings out the best in the people she works with. If something needs to be done, you can rely on Jeanne to see it through. I believe the high school is a better place because of Jeanne’s involvement, and I believe the School Committee would be stronger with her as a member. Please join me in voting for Jeanne Downs on April 2.
