'Significant Damage Caused By Storm': Wayland Emergency Update

Wayland's emergency management team sent an automated update to the town.

WAYLAND, MA—The storm that wound through town through the night on Wednesday caused "significant damage" to Wayland, according to an automated update to residents sent out around 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Wayland's DPW is working to remove fallen trees around town, but many cannot be removed yet because they are tangled in electrical wires. Wayland is waiting for Eversource to respond with a recovery plan.

In the meantime, several roads are closed - and not safe - due to live electrical wires and downed trees in the road.
