Simple Solutions Expo Coming to Wayland COA

Senior discount Charlie Cards, walk-in tubs, stair lifts, grocery delivery and gadgets at the Simple Solutions Expo on Wednesday, April 3 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Trinitarian Congregational Church.

Over 25 vendors plus speakers will feature tips, tools, techniques and strategies to live more fully and comfortably in your own home as personal needs, abilities and preferences change over time.

Explore the vendor tables to learn about home modification ideas, clutter and organization strategies, home safety, senior housing options, helpful gadgets, grocery delivery, prepared meals, walk in tubs, stair lifts, ramps and more!

Learn about Emerson Hospital’s upcoming AARP Car Fit event as well as transportation opportunities. Bring a photo ID with age verification and leave with a reduced fare Charlie Card. Register for MWRTA Dial A Ride service if a Wayland resident.

Stop by the speaker area, and enjoy complimentary refreshments while you pick up tips from the mini presentations on the half hour. Wayland Fire Department will talk about home safety ... use of generators, lock boxes and more. Tom Antonellis will share simple home modification ideas to consider. The mini presentations start at 3:30 pm. Kick-off speaker is Marie LeBlanc with organizational tips for all your possessions.

3:30 p.m. - ORGANIZING YOUR POSSESSIONS  Marie LeBlanc, Transitions Liquidation Services

4 p.m. - BAYPATH-YOUR RESOURCE FOR INFORMATION, REFERRAL  AND MORE  Christine Alessandro, Executive Director of BayPath Elder Services, our local  Massachusetts Area Agency on Aging.

4:30 p.m. - TIPS, TOOLS AND GADGETS FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING  Parmenter Health: Terry Banhazl, OTR, Sue Rushfirth, RPT

5 p.m. - HOME MODIFICATION IDEAS and FUNDING OPTIONS  Builder, Tom Antonellis; Christy Cutting, Mass Rehab Commission

5:30 p.m. - HOME SAFETY – INCLUDING GENERATORS, DETECTORS, LOCK BOXES Wayland Fire Dept.

Presentations approximately 15 minutes. Vendor tables open continually from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Let your interests guide how you explore all the show has to offer.

SIMPLE SOLUTIONS EXPO is presented by the Wayland Council On Aging. It will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2013, from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. at the Trinitarian Congregational Church, Wayland.
