UPDATED: Wayland Residents, Locally Connected Runners Confirmed Safe
Anyone in Boylston area can use Safe and Well site to let family know they are OK.

Wayland resident Russ Becker confirmed with Wayland Patch that he and his family are safe following the two explosions that rocked Boston during today's Boston Marathon.
"Thankfully everyone on my end is safe," Becker told Patch via email. "Hopefully everyone else is accounted for."
Wayland Patch has received confirmation via Facebook, Twitter and email that these Wayland runners are also safe:

- Cathy Basrak and family are OK.
- Suzy Shapiro is OK. Shapiro is not a Wayland resident but works at Russell's Garden Center and is well known in town.
- John Stoller and family are OK
If you were in the Boylston Street area—or if your friends and family believe you may have been in the area—you can use the Red Cross's Safe and Well site to register yourself. The site, activated by the Red Cross for the marathon explosion, allows user to search for you by name to check on your status.Â
