Wayland Volunteers Jump In to Kick Off Framingham Youth Lacrosse Season

Wayland Youth Lacrosse, the town's Department of Public Works and a dedicated Wayland parent helped Framingham Youth Lacrosse open its season.

The Wayland Youth Lacrosse program jumped in on Saturday to help the Framingham Youth Lacrosse program open its season without a hitch on Sunday.

As of last Friday morning, the Framingham home field wasn’t ready for the teams to host the four games they had been assigned.

The Framingham fields were finally “open” but, due to the push for Framingham Parks & Recreation to prep the high school sports fields, the department was unable to line the boys' lacrosse field.

Luckily, Wayland's Department of Public Works came through for Framingham Youth Lacrosse and loaned the neighboring town its lining equipment.

Framingham Youth Lacrosse offered special thanks to thanks to Mike Wegerbauer, Wayland coach and dad who worked with the DPW to get the lining equipment to Framingham.

On Saturday afternoon, four Framingham volunteers took to the Fuller field armed with the Wayland equipment, stakes, an i-Pad and a long roll of string.

A few hours later, the field was beautifully lined – mostly straight.

None of the 175 children of Framingham, Wayland, Northborough or Southborough seemed to notice or mind.

What a GREAT example of inter-community cooperation!
