Westford Library Opens 'Browsing Tent'

WESTFORD, MA — Although the library isn’t open to the public yet, the librarians have come up with a workaround to help readers who miss browsing the stacks, and getting new titles into their hands.
A "browsing tent" opened this week. Those who are interested in checking out a physical book should head to the library's website to fill out a questionnaire and schedule a time to come and browse the selections personally picked for you by the staff.
The online questionnaire poses questions about your reading tastes or, librarians say you can skip the questions and choose to let the librarians surprise you with staff recommendations.

The library is also offering “Book Bundles.” Choose a category, and they will come up with a “bundle” of books.
One of the Library staff members will meet you in the tent with the personally curated titles.

Fifteen minute appointments will be available for individuals and thirty minute appointments for families. To comply with pandemic safety re-opening guidelines, only one individual or one family will be scheduled at a time in the tent. This service will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday – Friday. Weekend hours will be added the week of July 27. Masks are required but the staff will provide sanitizer.
