After Easter Shooting, Worcester Police Arrest City Man

The shooting happened early Sunday morning in Worcester's Union Hill neighborhood.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police have charged a city man following an injury shooting early Sunday morning.

According to police, officers responded to Dorchester Street near 1:30 a.m. Sunday after receiving an alert about gunfire. At the scene, they found a wounded man inside a sedan near the corner of Barclay and Dorchester streets.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, but police did not immediately name his condition.

Police said Monday they had arrested a 20-year-old Kenyon Avenue man at a local hospital in connection to the shooting. He will be charged with armed assault with intent to murder, possession of a gun without a license, shooting a gun within 500 feet of a building and misleading a police investigation.
