Resident Confronts Possible Home Invasion Suspect

A woman that unexpectedly came to the door said she was there to clean the house, police said.

Investigators with the Bloomfield Township Police Department ask that any residents who encounter unexpected visitors claiming to do work in or on the home to report it. A resident in the 3000 Block of Burning Bush Road did just that on Sept. 18 after she saw a woman exit a small silver Honda near her home and then heard the doorknob turning as if someone was trying to open the door, reports said.

The resident went outside and confronted the woman at her door. The stranger spoke with an Eastern European or Russian accent, and claimed she was there to clean the house.

She then got back into the vehicle and left the area. The woman was described as between 40-50 years of age, approximately 5-feet-6 inches tall and approximately 145 lbs., with brownish red hair.

Anyone involved in a similar situation, or can identify the woman is asked to call the department at 248-433-7764.
