Under Mayor Jack O’Reilly’s direction, the Dearborn Police Department has greatly enhanced its public website, Dearbornpolice.com. The website is also accessible via the city’s official website at www.cityofdearborn.org.

The updates include sections dedicated to transparent policing, an explanation of the training regarding alternatives to violent force, and the details of the department’s recent accreditation from the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police.

Dearbornpolice.com also includes a listing of updated online services designed to assist Dearborn residents in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The City of Dearborn’s mission statement developed with direction from Mayor O’Reilly explains the commitment to transparency. It says: “to deliver superior public service and earn the public’s trust every day in everything we do.”

“Updating the department website will provide our citizens immediate access to more information consistent with our commitment to transparency and accountability," Police Chief Ronald Haddad said. "Equally important, the website will connect citizens with efficient public safety service.”
