Man Posing As Metro Detroit Target Worker Steals Electronics, Leads Police Chase: Reports
Officials said the man told workers he was rehired at the store before going to the customer service area where he took the items.

TAYLOR, MI — A man stole hundreds of dollars worth of electronics from a metro Detroit Target while posing as a store employee Tuesday, according to news reports.
Officials said the man, who was previously a seasonal hire, told store employees that he was rehired at the Target store in the 14099 block of Pardee Road in Taylor, according to news reports.
Once inside the store, he made his way to the customer service area and opened the register’s till, according to news reports.

Once he found the register was empty, he grabbed a PlayStation console and air pods that were in the customer pickup area, according to news reports.
He then ran out of the store and sped away north on Pardee Road, while staff called police, according to news reports.

Officers initially chased the car, but quickly terminated the chase and deactivated their emergency sirens, according to news reports.
The man eventually crashed into two vehicles at the Pardee and Goddard roads intersection, according to news reports.
Officers arrested the man and recovered the stolen items, according to news reports.
There were no serious injuries in the incident or the crash.
