1 Dead, 1 Hurt After Car Crashes Into Detroit Restaurant: Reports

The restaurant is closed until further notice.​

DETROIT — One person is dead and another person was injured after a car crashed into a Detroit restaurant over the weekend, according to local reports.

Police said two cars collided outside the restaurant on Gratiot Avenue and Saint Aubin Street at 2:30 a.m. Saturday. One of the cars then struck the restaurant, according to police.

A woman died from her injuries sustained in the crash and a man was listed in critical condition at a nearby hospital, reports said.

The Avenue Grill posted on Facebook that the restaurant will be closed until further notice.

"Due to an unfortunate car accident that occurred outside our restaurant and caused significant damage, Avenue Grill has taken a massive hit," according to the post.
