'Bitter Cold' And Below Zero Wind Chills Ahead: Forecast

Despite a climb in temperatures Wednesday, a cold front is about to sweep Southeastern Michigan.

METRO DETROIT, MI — Metro Detroit was hit Tuesday with snow and icy conditions that closed some 800 schools across the region and shut down Detroit Metropolitan Airport for 14 hours. While temps will warm up Wednesday, Metro Detroiters should brace for more snow throughout the weekend.

A Winter Weather Advisory is still in effect for areas north of the I-69 corridor until noon Wednesday. Snow showers will develop across the region Thursday afternoon and continue into the evening hours, the National Weather Service said. Expect an inch of accumulation.

Friday is when forecasters say the bitter cold will arrive, continuing into the weekend. Wind chills could reach 15 below zero or colder.
