Channel 7 News Team Finds Shooting Victim, Calls 9-1-1
A 7 Action News reporter and videographer called 911 after finding a gunshot victim in Detroit.

A field reporter and videographer from Action 7 News made news today when they found a shooting victim in need of emergency medical help. While reporting on a fatal shooting that took place Monday night, Channel 7 Reporter Kim Craig and videographer Danny Stricker were suddenly hailed by a neighbor, trying to get help for a man she said was bleeding to death. Craig said that when they found the injured man, he yelled for help and asked the news crew not to leave him.
EMS responded to the scene after being called by 7 Action News. Detroit police told Channel 7 the shootings are connected, and that the victim in the fatal shooting Monday owned two Fletcher Street properties, including the one where the news team found the second victim. Police think there might be a retaliation angle for the second shooting, that the shooter might have assumed the second victim participated in the murder.
