Detroit Man Accused In Deadly Jefferson Avenue Shooting
Prosecutors said the victim was walking with her husband when she was shot and killed by a man in a passing vehicle.
DETROIT, MI — Wayne County prosecutors have charged a Detroit man with second-degree murder in connection with a deadly shooting that took place on Jefferson Avenue and St. Aubin in Detroit Sept. 3.
Devin Rashad Green, 19, is charged with one count of second-degree murder, careless discharge of a weapon causing death and felony firearm, prosecutors said Friday. Green is accused of killing 43-year-old Janet Lynn Kendle of Dearborn, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors said officers from the Detroit Police Department responded to the sound of gunshots in the area of Jefferson and St. Aubin around 1 a.m. Sept. 3. When officers got to the area, they said they found the victim on the ground with a gunshot wound.

Medics arrived to the scene and took Kendle to a local hospital where she died from her wounds, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said Kendle and her husband were walking west on the north side of Jefferson Avenue when Green, who was in the backseat of a passing vehicle, pulled out a gun and shot Kendle.
