Halloween In Metro Detroit: Haunted Houses Open In The Area
While the coronavirus has forced many annual Halloween attractions to close for the year, at least a few haunted houses are open for 2020.
MICHIGAN — Traditional Halloween events, such as haunted houses and corn mazes, have not been immune to issues presented during the coronavirus pandemic. Several haunted houses have closed across Metro Detroit due to the pandemic, but many remain open with safety guidelines and restrictions.
Here are some of Metro Detroit's Haunted Houses and where they stand on whether to open during the coronavirus pandemic.
Azra Chamber of Horrors Haunted House (Madison Heights) — Planning to open Oct. 3 with some safety guidelines, such as limited capacity, face coverings and outside lines.

Blake's Haunted Big Apple (Armada) — Open now until Oct. 31. Those attending are asked to wear masks, wash and sanitize hands frequently and are limiting capacity.
Bonadeo Farms Full Moon Manor Haunted House and Corn Maze (Highland Township) — Some facets are still being offered now through Oct. 31, such as cider, doughnuts and hayrides. However, there will be no haunted house or corn maze this year.

Deranged Haunt (Romulus) — Will be open. All guests and staff will have their temperature taken upon entry. Group sizes will be limited, face masks will be required and social distancing will be in place.
Erebus (Pontiac) — Open through Nov. 7.
Haunted Garage Productions (Grosse Pointe Farms) — Closed due to damage sustained during a summer storm. Plans to reopen in 2021.
Hush Haunted Attraction (Westland) — Open with face coverings required, social distancing, temperature screenings, enhanced sanitization and a contact-free environment.
Lochaven Haunted Halloween House (Waterford) — Open
Morrow Road Haunted Trail (St. Clair) — Will open Oct. 2-31.
Phantom Forest Hayrides at Westcroft Gardens (Grosse Ile) — Will not be offering hayrides this year, but are offering other activities.
Scarefest Scream Park (New Haven) — Will be open, but with restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic. Some attractions may be limited. Face coverings will be required, as will temperature screenings and social distancing. No bags will be allowed in the park.
Slaughtered at Sundown Haunted House and Hayride (Armada) — Closed for 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Haunted Funeral Home (Inkster) — Will be open.
The Scream Machine (Taylor) — Will be closed for 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Huron Turkey Farm Haunted House (Romulus) — Opening Sept. 26 through October. Masks will be required.
Tunnel of Terror (Rochester) — Open, with some restrictions. Masks will be required, as will hand sanitization before entering the haunted house.
Twisted Fears Haunted House (Clinton Township) — Not offering the walkthrough portion of its activities due to the pandemic. However, it will be offering an interactive yard display.
Wiard's Night Terrors Haunted Thrill Park (Ypsilanti) — Limited tickets are available for various events due to the coronavirus pandemic. Staff will be screened and will wear masks.
Woods of Darkness (South Rockwood) — Will be closed for 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
