Hazardous Weather Outlook In Effect For NYE In Metro Detroit
Prepare for possible thunderstorms and wind gusts up to 40 mph Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.

METRO DETROIT, MI — Be careful if you’re heading out on New Year’s Eve in metro Detroit, there’s a hazardous weather outlook and storms are possible. NYE is expected to produce thunderstorms and rainfall late today into the evening. A cold front passing through in the evening will create winds up to 40 mph.
We could see up to an in of rain, the National Weather Service said.

Rain, mainly after 11am. Areas of fog after 3pm. High near 43. East wind 7 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Rain before midnight. Areas of fog before 11pm. Low around 36. Breezy, with a south southeast wind 10 to 15 mph becoming west southwest 19 to 24 mph in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 32 by 5pm. North wind 8 to 10 mph.
