Highs Can Hit 70s, Thunderstorm Chances: Metro Detroit Weather

METRO DETROIT — Thunderstorms are expected across metro Detroit late Friday and into the weekend as temperatures continue warming in the region, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs will reach the mid 60s Friday across the Detroit area before rain with a few rumbles of thunder moves in during the overnight hours, according to the weather service.

The rain will linger into Saturday morning when temperatures begin climbing toward the 70s in the afternoon hours, according to the weather service.

There will be more chances for thunderstorms Saturday during the afternoon and evening hours, according to the weather service.

Temperatures will fall back down into the 50s on Sunday with more chances for rain, according to the weather service.

Highs will stay in the 50s to start next week, but then will quickly jump back into the 60s, according to the weather service.
