SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible Monday as hot and humid conditions linger across southeastern Michigan, according to the National Weather Service.
The storms are likely to develop in the afternoon hours, when highs reach 90 degrees with heat indexes climbing into the mid-90s, the weather service said.
Forecasters do not expect any severe weather Monday, but warned the storms could produce heavy downpours.

More showers and storms are possible again Tuesday across southeastern Michigan when highs again hit the 90s, the weather service said.
Those storms will also likely develop in the afternoon hours and will be more widespread across the region, the weather service said.

A cold front will sweep into the region on Wednesday, bringing less humid conditions through the rest of the week, the weather service said.
Temperatures will return to the 90s by the weekend, the weather service said.
