Man Wanted In Connection With 2 Fires Set At Historic Detroit Church: Police
Officials said the man was seen in the area when a historic Detroit church was set on fire.

DETROIT — A man is wanted in connection with a pair of fires set at a historic Detroit church last month, according to officials.
The fires were set in the morning hours on March 22 at the former Bushnell Congregational Church, which is in the 15000 block of the Southfield Freeway near Grand River Avenue, according to officials.
Officials said a fire was set at the church at roughly 8:30 a.m. on that Saturday. A security camera captured footage of a man leaving the area when the fire happened, according to officials.

Investigators said another smaller fire was set at the church earlier that morning.
The man was seen wearing a light grey sweatshirt, dark grey pants, black and white sneakers and a large black puffy coat, according to officials.

Officials said someone matching the description was also seen setting a fire at a Wendy’s location two blocks from the church just after 2 a.m. that same day.
Officials did not say how much damage the fire did to the church.
Officials asked anyone with information to call the Detroit Police Department’s Arson Unit at 313-596-2940.
