Meet Michigan's Rising Fashion Designer, 9-Year-Old Nevaeh Woods
Nevaeh's fashions are so special, even Barbie has recognized her work. Take a look at her creations.

MACOMB COUNTY, MI — Michigan's 9-year-old Nevaeh Woods dreams of being a fashion designer and the Macomb County resident is quickly on the rise as an up-and-coming star, thanks to a little help from her friends behind Barbie.
As a passion project, Nevaeh fashions new creations for her Barbies to wear made out of everything from socks to ribbon, glue and gemstones.

Nevaeh's creations are so special, they caught the attention of Mattel, the maker of Barbie, and the company sent her a special package to encourage her dreams as she runs her own endeavor called SaSha Sew Amazing.

"Because of you I'm closer to my goal of becoming a fashion designer," Nevaeh says in a video from Tuesday. She also thanked her parents "for telling me that dreams can come true."
Nevaeh's sense of fashion came from watching her mom and grandmother dress up to go out, said Sha'Kvia Woods
"She would compliment us and offer her approval if she liked our outfits," Woods told Patch. "Since the age of five she has shown interest in Barbie dolls and fashion, trying her best to match her Barbie doll clothing with her own outfit for the day."
As a creative spirit, Nevaeh loves crafts, to draw and nail art.
"Neveah is very particular and she knows exactly what she likes," Woods said.
Neveah said she loves fashion because it's a way to express yourself. She loves everything from bows to sequins, sparkles to bags to stand out and shine. She puts that same energy into her Barbie designs.
Nevaeh also has a GoFundMe page to help with her business as she aspires to make big purchases, such as a new sewing machine and supplies this year.
