Metro Detroit Teen, 16, Charged As Adult In Fatal Detroit Shooting

DETROIT — A 16-year-old boy is being charged as an adult in connection with a 2024 shooting that left another teen dead in Detroit near the Grosse Pointe Park border, according to police.
Ryan Sinegal, 16, was charged with first-degree murder, two counts of assault with intent to murder, and three counts of using a firearm during the commission of a felony.
He was placed in jail without bond. His next court date is scheduled for April 16.

If convicted, he faces up to life in prison for the murder and assault charges as well as up to two years for each count of using a firearm during a felony.
The fatal shooting happened at 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 16, 2024 in the 16000 block of Mack Avenue near East Outer Drive, according to police.

Police said Sinegal fired shots from a handgun at a 17-year-old who was sitting in the driver's seat of a vehicle, striking him multiple times. Sinegal then ran away, according to police.
When officers arrived, they found the 17-year-old suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and the vehicle riddled with bullet holes, according to police.
The 17-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to police.
