Michigan Adds 718 New Coronavirus Cases, 15 Deaths Tuesday

MICHIGAN — More than 103,000 cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Michigan as of Tuesday morning, according to the most recent data released by state health officials.

Michigan added 718 new cases of the coronavirus Tuesday, bringing the state's case total to 103,186. The state also reported 15 new deaths attributed to the coronavirus, eight of which were identified in a vital records search, officials said. The increase brings Michigan's coronavirus death toll to 6,495.

Michigan reported 451 new coronavirus cases on Monday, while adding seven deaths. Over 76,000 people have recovered from the coronavirus in Michigan, according to the state.

Michigan is ranked 18th in the U.S. in coronavirus cases, according to the World Health Organization. The state is ninth in the nation in deaths attributed to the virus.

According to the World Health Organization, the U.S. has reported more than 6.2 million cases of the coronavirus to lead the world in cases. Over 188,000 people in the U.S. have died from the virus, while more than 3.4 million people in the U.S. have recovered from the virus.

Over 25.7 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported around the world, according to the World Health Organization. That number includes more than 857,000 deaths being attributed to the virus, as well as over 18 million recoveries.

More than 6.8 million coronavirus cases remain active worldwide.
