Michigan Adds Nearly 700 New Coronavirus Cases Thursday
The state also reported 10 additional deaths, as the coronavirus death toll in Michigan grew to 6,519.
MICHIGAN — More than 104,000 cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Michigan as of Thursday morning, according to the most recent data provided by state health officials.
Michigan confirmed 685 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the state's case total to 104,395. The state also reported 10 additional deaths, as the coronavirus death toll in Michigan grew to 6,519.
The state eclipsed over 6,500 coronavirus deaths on Wednesday, when Michigan reported over 500 new cases of the virus and 14 more deaths. More than 76,000 people in the state have recovered from the virus, according to state health officials.

According to the World Health Organization, Michigan ranks 18th in the U.S. in total cases of the coronavirus. Michigan ranks ninth in the nation in deaths attributed to the virus.

More than 6.3 million coronavirus cases have been reported in the U.S., the highest total in the world, according to the World Health Organization. Brazil, with just more than 4 million cases, and India, with over 3.9 million cases, rank second and third in the world.
More than 190,000 people have died in the U.S. and over 3.5 million people in the nation have recovered.
Over 26.3 million cases of the coronavius have been reported worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. More than 870,000 people around the world have died from the virus, while over 18.5 million people have recovered.
Nearly 7 million cases of the coronavirus remain active worldwide.
