Michigan Adds Over 1,500 New Coronavirus Cases, 12 More Deaths
The state reported Monday that more than 1,500 new cases of the coronavirus had been reported since Saturday.
MICHIGAN — Michigan added over 1,500 new cases of the coronavirus Monday, a number that includes newly reported cases from Sunday as well, according to data provided by state health officials.
In all, Michigan added 1,536 new cases over the last two days, bringing the state's coronavirus case total to 117,406. Michigan also reported that 12 more people have died from the virus, increasing the death toll in Michigan to 6,665.
On Saturday, the state reported that 90,216 people in Michigan had recovered from the virus as of Friday.

According to the World Health Organization, Michigan ranks No. 17 in the U.S. in reported coronavirus cases. Michigan is ninth in the nation in coronavirus deaths.

The U.S. leads the world in reported coronavirus cases with more than 7 million having been reported as of Monday morning, according to the World Health Organization. The U.S. has already reported over 204,000 deaths nationwide and more than 4.2 million recoveries.
Over 31.4 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. That number includes more than 967,000 deaths and nearly 23 million recoveries worldwide. Over 7.3 million coronavirus cases remain active.
