Michigan Adds Over 500 New Coronavirus Cases Tuesday
The state also reported that 11 more people have died from the respiratory illness, bringing the death toll in Michigan to 6,612.
MICHIGAN — A little more than 113,000 cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Michigan as of Tuesday morning, according to the most recent data provided by state health officials.
Michigan reported 571 new cases of the virus have been confirmed, bringing the statewide case total to 113,183. Eleven more people have died from the virus in Michigan, increasing the number of coronavirus deaths in Michigan to 6,612.
Michigan added over 1,000 new cases of the coronavirus through Sunday and Monday, while also increasing the coronavirus death toll in Michigan by 10. More than 85,000 people in Michigan had recovered from the virus as of Friday, according to state data.

Michigan ranks 18th in the U.S. in reported cases of the coronavirus, according to the World Health Organization. Michigan is ninth in the nation in coronavirus deaths, a statistic it previously ranked as high as third in.

According to the World Health Organization, over 6.7 million coronavirus cases have been reported in the U.S. Of those, nearly 200,000 people have died and over 4 million have recovered.
More than 29.6 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. Over 936,000 people have died worldwide from the virus, while more than 21.4 million have recovered from the virus. More than 7.2 million cases remain active.
