Michigan Coronavirus Cases Climb Past 112,000 Monday
Over 1,000 more people have tested positive for the virus, bringing Michigan's coronavirus total to more than 112,000.
MICHIGAN — More than 112,000 cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Michigan as of Monday morning, according to the latest data reported by the state health department. Michigan has also reported that over 6,600 people have died from the virus in the state.
Michigan reported 1,088 more people have tested positive for the virus over the course of Sunday and Monday, bringing the state's total number of coronavirus cases to 112,612. During that same two-day span, 10 people died from the virus in Michigan, bringing the state's death toll to 6,601.
More than 85,000 people in Michigan had recovered from the coronavirus as of Friday, according to the MDHHS.

According to the World Health Organization, Michigan ranks 18th in the U.S. in reported cases of the coronavirus. California, Texas and Florida make up the Top 3 in the category, respectively. Michigan is ninth in the nation in deaths attributed to the coronavirus.

More than 6.7 million coronavirus cases have been reported in the U.S., according to the World Health Organization. The U.S. leads the world in that category, well ahead of India (4.8 million) and Brazil (4.3 million). Nearly 200,000 people in the U.S. have died due to the coronavirus. Nearly 4 million people in the U.S. have recovered from the coronavirus.
Over 29.2 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported worldwide as of Monday morning, according to the World Health Organization. That number includes more than 929,000 deaths and over 21.1 million recoveries. More than 7.2 million cases remain active.
