Michigan Reports 451 New Coronavirus Cases Monday
Michigan reported that seven more people have died due to the coronavirus, bringing the death toll to 6,480.
MICHIGAN — Michigan health officials said 451 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed in Michigan Monday, bringing the state's total number of confirmed coronavirus cases to 102,468.
Meanwhile, the state reported that seven more people have died due to the coronavirus as the statewide coronavirus death toll in Michigan increased to 6,480.
Michigan reported 539 new confirmed cases on Sunday, while adding six confirmed coronavirus deaths. The state, which reports the number of people who have recovered from the virus weekly, reported that more than 76,000 people in Michigan had recovered from the coronavirus as of Saturday.

While over 102,000 cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Michigan, state health officials believe the number is cases and deaths attributed to the respiratory illness could be higher.

Officials reported Monday that there are more than 10,000 probable coronavirus cases, in which the virus has not been confirmed but symptoms suggest a person is likely infected. There are over 6,700 deaths deemed probable coronavirus deaths, according to the state's coronavirus website.
Factoring in probable cases and deaths brings Michigan's total coronavirus numbers to 113,025 cases and 6,753.
According to the World Health Organization, which factors in probable cases, Michigan ranks 18th in the U.S. in reported coronavirus cases. California, Texas and Florida make up the Top 3 in total cases, respectively. Michigan is ninth in the nation in coronavirus deaths. New York and New Jersey are the No. 1- and No. 2-ranked states in the U.S. in that category.
The U.S. has reported more than 6.1 million coronavirus cases as of Monday morning, according to the World Health Organization. The U.S. leads the world in reported cases of the virus, ahead of Brazil (over 3.8 million cases reported) and India (more than 3.6 million cases reported).
The U.S. has attributed over 187,000 deaths to the coronavirus, while reporting that more than 3.4 million people across the nation have recovered from the virus.
Over 25.5 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported worldwide, according to the World Health Organization. That number includes more than 852,000 deaths attributed to the coronavirus as well as over 17.8 million recoveries. More than 6.8 million cases of the virus remain active around the world.
