Bodies Of Mom, Daughter, 9-Year-Old Girl Found In Burned Car In Detroit: Report

Officers have arrested a man who is not cooperating with investigators​, police said.

DETROIT — A man has been arrested after officers found three bodies inside a burning car Sunday on Detroit's west side, according to police.

Police identified the victims as the man’s ex-girlfriend, her mother and her 9-year-old niece, according to a WDIV report.

Officials believe the man shot the mother and ex-girlfriend then stabbed the 9-year-old to death before the fire was set, according to a Fox 2 Detroit report.

The bodies were found in the burning car at 6 a.m. Sunday near Milford and 30th streets in Detroit, police said.

Once firefighters put out the blaze, they found their bodies, which were burned beyond recognition, police said.

Investigators then tracked the person of interest to a house on the city's east side where they found a 4-year-old boy, unharmed and home alone, according to a Detroit News report.

Officers eventually arrested the man, who is not cooperating with investigators, police said.
