Police Searching For Murder Suspect Near Detroit Mercy Campus
School officials said that despite an increased police presence, the campus is not on lockdown.
DETROIT, MI — An increased police presence has been reported at the University of Detroit Mercy, where school officials said police are searching for a murder suspect off but near the McNichols campus.
According to the university, public safety has increased its presence in the area surrounding McNichols campus after a murder suspect was seen around 10 a.m. Friday.
Detroit Mercy Alert: MCN Campus is not on lock down. Public Safety has increased control. Suspect last seen 10 AM southbound from Fairfield at McNichols.

The suspect was described as a Black male wearing tan pants and black shoes and is considered armed.
