Summer Heat, Weekend Rain Chances: Metro Detroit Weather

Temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 80s across the Detroit area Thursday before rain moves into the area, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a slight chance for rain Thursday when a cold front moves in, but forecasters said most of the region will stay dry.

Highs on Friday will fall back into the upper 70s, which is still above average for this time of year, the weather service said.

Temperatures will climb back into the 80s by Sunday when the region's best chance for rain moves in during the nighttime hours, the weather service said.

More rain is expected Monday as highs across the region will stay around 80 degrees to start the week, the weather service said.
