Tornadoes, 60 MPH Winds Possible Across Detroit Area Wednesday Night

Southeast Michigan is under a marginal, or level one of five​ for severe weather Wednesday night.

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN — Severe thunderstorms are possible across southeastern Michigan on Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs will climb toward 70 degrees in the afternoon hours before the storms move into the region sometime between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m., according to the weather service.

Forecasters warned that some storms could bring heavy rain, strong winds that reach up to 60 miles per hour and even an isolated tornado.

Afternoon highs will only reach the 30s Thursday (first day of spring) and the rain will changeover to snow in the evening hours, according to the weather service.

Highs will rebound back into the 50s Friday before another chance of rain Saturday morning, according to the weather service.
