Wayne County Woman Accused In Fatal Car Crash
Prosecutors said a Wayne County woman was drunk when she ran a stoplight and hit a motorcyclist Tuesday.
WAYNE COUNTY, MI — Wayne County prosecutors have accused a 49-year-old Wayne County woman in connection with a car crash that killed a 65-year-old Detroit man on a motorcycle.
Mia Michelle Allen, of Gibraltar, is charged with with reckless driving causing death and operating under the influence causing death, prosecutors said Friday. Allen was arraigned Thursday in 24th District Court.
According to prosecutors, Allen on Tuesday was traveling northbound on Southfield Road at a high rate of speed and failed to slow down for a red light at Allen Road, striking a motorcyclist. Prosecutors said Allen was drunk at the time of the crash.

Allen Park police were dispatched to the scene and found the motorcyclist unresponsive in the roadway, prosecutors said. He later died from his injuries, according to prosecutors.
A probable cause conference is scheduled for Aug. 31 in 24th District Court, prosecutors said.
