Farmington Hills PD Selects 2016 Police Office Of The Year

Officer Larry Hernandez has been given the Police Officer Of The Year Award for 2016 for exceptional work in 2016.

From Farmington Hills PD: Farmington Hills Police Chief Charles Nebus is honored to announce that Officer Larry Hernandez has been selected as the 2016 Farmington Hills Police Officer of the Year. Officer Hernandez was selected by his peers for this prestigious award as a result of his exceptional work in 2016. During the past year, Officer Hernandez was awarded a citation for the identification and arrest of a person responsible for a larceny from auto. He received a second citation for the arrest of a person in possession of a concealed pistol. In June, he was recognized for administering Narcan and saving the life of a person who had overdosed. Additionally, he received two Unit Citations for his role in disrupting several large-scale drug trafficking organizations.

Officer Hernandez joined the Farmington Hills Police Department in July 2006. During his time with the department, Officer Hernandez has served as a uniformed patrol officer and as a task force officer assigned to the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). During his ten years with the Department, Officer Hernandez has received numerous awards including one Merit Citation, one Life Saving Award, one Chain of Life Award, three Citations, seven Unit Citations, one Certificate of Commendation, and one Letter of Appreciation.

Officer Hernandez was presented with his award by Chief Nebus on Monday, January 23, 2017, during the City of Farmington Hills 41 st Annual Employee Recognition Awards Ceremony.
