Photo Gallery: Curamus Terram Runners Conquer Oakland Township's Hills, Trails
The township hosts the 5k, 10k, half marathon and kids' races annually.
Dozens of runners and joggers of all ages took to the streets and trails of Oakland Township Saturday morning as part of the township's annual .
The event, now in its eighth year, featured a half marathon that wound through the township and included several miles through the beautiful – and very hilly, runners reported – Bald Mountain Recreation Area.
The event also included a 10k run and a 5k run that cut through Bear Creek Nature Park before ending in front of Township Hall. Children also participated in a fun run near the township offices.

"The last mile was beautiful," Canton resident Maralyn O'Brien said. "That's why I did this."
O'Brien was the first female to cross the finish line in the 10k race with a time of 54:10.

"I think it's great that everyone comes out to race," Oakland Township resident Debbie Northrup said. Northrup, a retired teacher, came in eighth place overall in the 5k run with a time of 31:35.
"I won it the four previous years I did it, and I wanted to keep my title," Troy resident and 10k race winner Todd Kelly said. Kelly finished the 6.1-mile race in 41:54 – almost five minutes faster than the second-place runner.
The race is put on each year by the Oakland Township Parks & Recreation Department. This year's race results are provided by Rotpac Racing and will be listed on the Run Michigan website.
