VIDEO: Aretha Franklin Sings National Anthem at Tigers Playoff Game

The Detroit Tigers win 5-2 against the Texas Rangers Tuesday night in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series.

Just when it seemed like it might be the end of the road for the Detroit Tigers after two consecutive losses to the Texas Rangers on the road, the Tigers – who faced elimination from the American League Championship Series (ALCS) if they lost one more game – ensured they'd stay in the playoffs for at least one more day with a 5-2 win against the Rangers.

And leading the charge at Comerica Park was The Queen of Soul herself, Aretha Franklin. The Grammy-winning Detroit icon belted out a heartfelt rendition of Star Spangled Banner while dozens of volunteers unfurled a massive American flag on the field.

The teams will play again today at Comerica Park in Game 4 of the ALCS, which starts at 4:19 p.m.
