Canton Center Road Replacement Expected To Begin In Early April

Residents have repeatedly cited Canton Center Road between Warren and Ford roads as one of the worst roads in Wayne County.

CANTON, MI — Construction crews are expected to begin replacing a one-mile road stretch of Canton Township's Canton Center Road between Warren and Ford roads in early April, according to city officials.

The full-pavement replacement was expected to cost about $6 million, which will be funded through a 20-year road millage residents approved in August 2018, officials said. Crews are expected to finish the project by the fall of 2022, weather permitting.

Drivers can expect one lane to be open in each direction on Canton Center Road as crews work on the road. Drivers will not be able to turn left on the road during the first phrase of the project. However, that could change as the construction project progresses.
