Canton Teens Caught Driving on Level One License

Two 16-year-old Canton teenagers were ticketed for violating a graduated level one license and for breaking curfew when they went out for food on Aug. 9, according to a police report.

Police saw the car with the teenagers exit the McDonald's parking lot on Ford and Sheldon Roads without any headlights on. The driver of the car told the officer he and his friend just went to McDonald's and neither had anything to drink, the report said. 

The driver had a graduated level one license, which restricts driving only when accompanied by a legal guardian or a licensed driver over 21.  

The driver was ticketed for violating his level one license and both were ticketed for violating curfew. Both the teenagers parents were contacted, and they were released into their custody, the report said.

Embezzlement 8/5 45001 Ford

An 18-year-old Canton teenager was charged with embezzlement on Aug. 5 after he admitted to taking food from the Meijer gas station while working, according to a police report. 

Meijer Loss Prevention was investigating shortages found on an inventory report by reviewing video, and saw the teenager eat two packages of beef jerky, one package of gum, as well as scratch off two lottery tickets. He didn't pay for any of the items, the report said. 

The teen admitted to the thefts, which totaled $48.98.
