Canton Township 2023 Road Construction Starts On Lotz Rd in Mid-April
Construction crews are preparing to work on multiple Canton Township roads this construction season.

CANTON TOWNSHIP, MI — Construction crews are preparing to work on multiple Canton Township roads this construction season.
Crews will begin the 2023 construction season in mid-April by repaving Lotz Road between Michigan Avenue to Palmer Road.

- Lotz Road, Michigan Avenue to Palmer Road, base repairs and resurfacing.
- Lilley Road between Michigan Avenue and Palmer Road, base repairs and resurfacing.
- Sheldon Road, Warren Road to Sheldon Center: asphalt mill, base repairs and overlay.
Crews will work on the projects one at a time. Work is expected to be done sometime in September.
The three projects will cost roughly $3 million, and are funded through the 1.45-mill Canton Road Improvement Project approved by voters in 2018.

In addition to the township projects, Wayne County will manage other road work in Canton, including:
- Hannan Road (Van Born to Michigan Ave): Resurfacing.
- South Sheldon Road (Cherbough Ave - Proctor): Crack sealing and joint repair.
- South Sheldon Road (Geddes – Palmer): Crack sealing and joint repair.
- Cherry Hill Road (Denton – Canton Center): Crack sealing and joint repair.
- Ridge Road (Cherry Hill – Ford): Crack sealing and joint repair.
- Denton Road (Geddes – Saltz): Crack sealing and joint repair.
