Constellium CARES: Employees Raise Funds for Ovarian Cancer
Honoring the memory of a co-worker lost to Ovarian Cancer and celebrating an Ovarian Cancer survivor, Van Buren employees Tie Michigan Teal.

Constellium: CARES team members recently hung teal ribbons and awareness posters in public spaces around Constellium's Van Buren Plant to raise awareness for Ovarian Cancer. As part of a campaign called Tie Michigan Teal, the ribbons were printed with symptoms and other information about Ovarian Cancer. The team members also set up Ovarian Cancer Awareness Stations, which included pamphlets, information cards, and awareness wristbands in the cafeterias at the Van Buren Plant, as well as collected donations to give to the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance (MIOCA).

An ongoing initiative of its U.S. sites, Constellium CARES, has dedicated teams at each U.S. Constellium work site that choose among employee suggestions for community projects. The event was personal for many of the Van Buren employees, who honored Robin Small, a co-worker who worked on the accounting team at the plant and passed away from Ovarian Cancer in 2021. Tie the Teal is done in her honor, as well as in honor of CARES team member Nicole Diaz, who is a survivor of Ovarian Cancer.
