Hackers Shut Down Local Sites Hosted by GoDaddy.com

The infamous "Anonymous" hacking group claimed responsibility for taking down a popular web hosting service that hosts local preschool's website, among others.

A group of hackers shut down GoDaddy.com, a popular web hosting service Monday, taking down local preschool Branch Line School's website in the process, according to an email by Patch reader Bri Mason.

An Internet domain lookup indicated Branch Line School's website is hosted by GoDaddy.com. The website currently is operational again after briefly being inaccessible Monday.

Patch reader Bruce Koldys also reported one of his websites being down. He wrote in an email that his site, villazorayda.com, was inaccessible for some time on Monday.
