Metro Detroit Weather Forecast Looks Like Rain

After a sunny Friday, showers are expected off and on all weekend.

METRO DETROIT, MI — If you’ve planned to take Friday off for a long weekend, you made a darn good decision. According to the National Weather Service, Friday will be a mostly sunny day with a high near 87 degrees

The rest of the metropolitan Detroit weather forecast this weekend is a little iffy. Showers are predicted to start in the early morning hours Saturday, around 3 a.m. and continue in hit or miss fashion much of the day. Here’s a closer look at the weekend forecast:

Friday Night: Showers likely, mainly after 3am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 69. South southeast wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Saturday: Showers likely before 9am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 9am and 3pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 83. Southeast wind around 7 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. Saturday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 9pm and 3am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Sunday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 66.

The rain, of course, will clear up Monday. The National Weather Service calls for a mostly sunny day, with a high near 79.
