More Catalytic Converters Reported Stolen in Plymouth Township

Plymouth Township Police are reporting two more thefts of catalytic converters during the past week, just one week after township residents reported three previous thefts.
Police responded Sept. 25 to the 40000 block of Newporte Drive to speak with someone who reported a catalytic converted cut from her vehicle, according to a police report.
The vehicle owner told police that between 3 p.m. on Sept. 21 and 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 24, the catalytic converter was taken from her silver 2003 Chevy Cavalier, the report said.

The woman told police when she went to start the vehicle, it was louder than usual and she had assumed it was an issue with the new engine installed by the dealership, the police report said. The woman’s grandson returned the car to the dealership, which indicated the catalytic converter appeared to have been cut from the car.
Police have no suspects.

Another catalytic converter reported stolen
Plymouth Township Police met Sept. 25 with a woman who reported a catalytic converter cut from her vehicle, according to a police report.
The woman told police that between 7:15 a.m. and 4:05 p.m. on Sept. 25, someone cut the catalytic converter from her gold 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier while she was working at Independence Village, 14707 Northville Road, the report said.
The woman told police no other damage was found on the vehicle.
Police have no suspects.
