Multiple Hurt After 6-Vehicle Crash On I-94 In Washtenaw Co.: Police

Multiple people were injured in a Monday morning six-vehicle crash on Interstate 94 in Washtenaw County, police said.

CHELSEA, MI — Multiple people were injured in a Monday morning six-vehicle crash on Interstate 94 in Washtenaw County, according to Michigan State Police.

Troopers said a semi truck was driving west on Interstate 94 near Main Street in Chelsea at 7:07 a.m. when the driver lost control due to snowy roads and jack-knifed, leading to the six-vehicle pileup.

Two other semi trucks and three passenger vehicles were involved in the crash, which then led to secondary crashes on the freeway, troopers said.

One person was critically injured and numerous others were taken to a nearby hospital, troopers said.

No further details were released from police.
