Officials Investigating Gas Leak Near Plymouth Construction Site

PLYMOUTH, MI — Officials are investigating a gas leak that was reported Tuesday morning near a Plymouth construction site at Starkweather Street and the railroad tracks.

Starkweather Street was closed from Liberty to Pearl Streets, and officials urged drivers to avoid the area and use Mill Street as a detour route.

Officials do not know what caused the gas leak and do not know how long the street will be closed down for, but said Consumers Energy is expected to work on repairs.
