Officials Set Public Meeting For M-14/I-96 Project In Wayne County
The $139 million project includes rebuilding Michigan 14/Interstate 96 from Sheldon Road to Newburgh Road.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, MI — Road officials will host a public meeting to discuss the upcoming Michigan 14/Interstate 96 project in Wayne County.
The meeting will be held on Feb. 12 at Plymouth Township Hall from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Road officials invited community partners, city representatives, local businesses and other interested residents to discuss the project at the meeting.
The $139 million project includes rebuilding Michigan 14/Interstate 96 from Sheldon Road to Newburgh Road. Work in the eastbound lanes is expected to begin in late February and go through late 2025. Work in the westbound lanes is expected to begin next year.

During the 2025 work, one lane will remain open on eastbound Michigan 14 from before Beck Road to Levan Road, with all eastbound entrance and exit ramps closed from Beck to Newburgh roads, according to road officials.
The Interstate 275 ramps to eastbound Interstate 96 will be closed for roughly two months while the other ramps will be closed through the end of 2025, according to road officials.

During the 2026 work, two lanes will open in each direction, though there will be numerous ramp closures, according to road officials.
Road officials said roughly 125,000 drivers who use Michigan 14/Interstate 96 daily near the Interstate 275 interchange.
