Olympic Ice Dancing Champion Meryl Davis Engaged

Olympic Ice Dancing champion and Canton's own Meryl Davis is engaged to Fedor Andreev.

CANTON, MI — It’s Meryl Davis’ turn to tie the knot. Two years after her Olympic Ice Dancing partner married, the other half of Canton’s dynamic duo is engaged. On July 13, Davis was engaged to to fellow figure skater Fedor Andreev, according to a WXYZ-TV report.

Andreev is the son of Marina Zoueva, who previously coached Davis. The couple did not announce a wedding date. In 2015, Davis’ partner Charlie White married another ice skating champion, Tanith Belbin.

Davis and White won gold in the ice-dancing competition at the 2014 Sochi Olympics. She served was one of Belbin’s attendants in her wedding to White.

Belbin won a silver medal in the 2006 Torino Olympics with skating partner Benjamin Agosto, who was a guest at the wedding. White, who grew up in Bloomfield Hills, trained for years at Canton’s Arctic Edge Ice Arena. The duo are retired from competition but still perform together at many skating exhibitions and shows.
