Crews will close a stretch of Interstate 94 in Wayne County for road work Thursday, thanks to a reckless driver, officials said.

WAYNE COUNTY, MI — Construction crews will close a stretch of Interstate 94 in Wayne County for road work Thursday, thanks to a reckless driver, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.
Crews will close the right two lanes of westbound Interstate 94 between Haggerty and Belleville roads at 9 a.m. Thursday to repair the freeway's concrete, according to road officials.
Crews are expected to finish the work by 5 p.m. Friday, but the lanes will remain closed for roughly an additional week to allow the concrete to cure, according to road officials.

Access to the Belleville Rest Area and the Belleville Road exit and entrance ramps will be open during the closure, according to road officials.
Officials said road crews already repaired the same stretch of freeway last Saturday and closed it to enable fresh concrete to cure.
