Happy Friday Wildcats! March is Reading Month is off to an awesome start. It is wonderful to see kids so excited about Reading! We are looking forward to all of the activities that are being planned including a special surprise at the end of the month from Mrs. Johnson. On a different note, we are in need again to rally around a family who has experienced an unexpected loss. This third grader, his mom and brothers appreciate your love and support. If you would like to make a card or donate gifts cards for food or fun for the family, please send them to school by Friday, March 11. We will make sure the family gets them.   Also, Mr. Dan, Our beloved Plant Engineer, will be moving to Tonda Elementary. Mr. Dan has worked hard over the years to help our school run smoothly. Students have been making cards for him and we will have a small staff celebration today. Thank you for everything Mr. Dan! Good luck at Tonda.

 On Friday, February 25, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) updated its requirements related to public transportation, including while riding school buses. The announcement is aligned with last week’s updated guidance for mask wearing in K-12 schools in areas with a low or medium COVID-19 Community Level. As of this week, masks will no longer be required to be worn by students while riding on school buses. Students may continue wearing masks if they choose. Durham Transportation staff will be required to wear masks in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration’s mask mandate, which is in place until March 18, 2022. Masks are available on all buses for student and staff use.
