Arts, Beats & Eats Announces Musical Schedule
The B-52s, Starship and Grand Funk Railroad are among the acts slated to appear at Royal Oak's Arts, Beats & Eats.

ROYAL OAK, MI — Organizers of Arts, Beats & Eats announced its musical lineup Tuesday afternoon at Hop Cat in Royal Oak. And what a lineup it is with the B-52s, Starship, Dwight Yokam, Jordan Davis, Grand Funk Railroad, the Wallflowers, George Clinton, Jena Irene, Your Generation, Candlebox, 311 and others.
This year’s event will be held Sept. 1-4 in downtown Royal Oak. Ford Motor Company is one of the major sponsors for Art’s, Beats & Eats 20th anniversary. More than 200 musical acts will hit eight stages and cover rock, blues, jazz, R&B and even a little folk music.
Your Generation, Starship and the B-52s will perform on opening night Sept. 1 at 6 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., respectively. Three major acts will perform each day of Arts, Beats & Eats. Tickets can be purchased in advance.

Beyond the music, a Juried Fine Art Show, located on the southern edge of the festival, will be held. Artists from across the nation will pack the streets and showcase on 7th Street between Lafayette & Washington, Washington between 7th and Lincoln, and Lincoln between Washington and Center, according to the Arts, Beats & Eats website.

The art fair hours are:
Friday, September 1: 11:00am - 9:00pm
Saturday, September 2: 11:00am - 9:00pm
Sunday, September 3: 11:00am - 9:00pm
Monday, September 4: 11:00am - 5:00pm
As for the eats, more than 40 metropolitan Detroit restaurants will bring their fare for festival goers. In additional to traditional yummy items, participating restaurants will be offering healthy “eats.”
